Georgia – Unemployment Modernization Set for Early Spring 2027

The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) announced that their new unemployment system, UI Inspire, will roll out in early spring 2027. The GDOL plans to provide training, demonstrations, and tutorial videos in advance of the rollout to help ensure a smooth transition. Continued testing and integration of requested changes will create a system that is responsive, reliable, and more efficient than ever.

Iowa – UI Tax Rates at Lowest Possible Level for Fifth Straight Year

In 2027, Iowa employers will once again have their unemployment taxes determined by Tax Table D, the lowest rates allowed by law. Under this table, rates range from 0.00% to 5.40%.

As of August 15, 2026, the trust fund balance was over $2 million dollars, which represents the healthiest the fund has been since the late 1990s and twice the level required to trigger a higher rate table.
