Indiana – Disaster Unemployment Assistance Benefits Available

Impacted individuals in Carroll, Dearborn, Decatur, Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Hamilton, Hancock, Henry, Lake, LaPorte, Madison, Marion, Morgan, Porter, Pulaski, Randolph, Rush, Tipton, Union, and Wayne counties may be eligible for DUA benefits.

As a reminder, DUA is an unemployment insurance benefit made available after a disaster and is only available to individuals who:

  • Have applied for and used all regular unemployment benefits from any state, or do not qualify for unemployment benefits.
  • Worked or were self-employed or scheduled to begin work or self-employment in the disaster area.
  • Can no longer work or perform services because of physical damage or destruction to the place of employment as a direct result of the disaster.
  • Establish that the work or self-employment they can no longer perform was their primary source of income.
  • Cannot perform work or self-employment because of an injury as a direct result of the disaster.
  • Became the breadwinner or major support of a household because of the death of the head of household.

Individuals must apply for regular benefits by visiting the Uplink Claimant Self-Service System at uplink.in.gov/CSS/CSSLogin.htm. If denied regular benefits, they can then apply for DUA, the process for which they can begin by filling out this form.

The application deadline is October 27,2026.

Nevada – Increased Taxable Wage Base for 2027

The taxable wage base will increase to $45,400 in 2027, a 3.9% increase from $43,700 in 2026.

Texas – Proposed Rule Adds Additional Workforce Data Reporting Requirements

The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is proposing updates to its unemployment insurance reporting rules to support new workforce data requirements passed by the Texas Legislature in 2025.

The proposed rule would require employers to include additional employment information in their routine wage reports, such as industry, occupational field, full-time or part-time status, primary work county, and remote work status. The goal of the collection of this information is to help improve labor market data, support workforce and education planning, guide economic development decisions, and strengthen fraud prevention efforts.

The proposal references existing quarterly wage reporting, the use of which is intended to minimize the burden on employers. While some employers may have minor upfront costs to add the new data elements, TWC anticipates those costs will decrease as the requirements become part of regular reporting.

Similar reporting requirements have been proposed in California but have stalled due to administrative and cost concerns.

Comments on the proposed rule are due by September 7, 2026 and can be submitted via email to [email protected].

Wyoming – Increased Taxable Wage Base for 2027

The taxable wage base will increase to $34,900 in 2027, a 3.3% increase from $33,800 in 2026.
