MICHIGAN – UPCOMING GO LIVE DATE FOR MiUI RELEASE, DOWNTIME SCHEDULED
As a reminder, the Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA) is transitioning to a new tax and benefits system called MiUI, which will replace the current Michigan Web Account Manager (MiWAM). The MiUI site will initially be used for tax functionality only, including filing quarterly wage and tax reports, uploading wage files, registering as a new business, and more.
From Wednesday, February 18 at 4:30PM ET through Sunday, February 22, MiWAM will be inaccessible while the state works to transition functionality from MiWAM to the new MiUI platform. By Monday, February 23, MiUI should be live for tax functions and users will once again be able to access MiWAM, though functionality on MiWAM will now be limited to benefits functions only. It is recommended that employers complete any required unemployment activities prior to the downtime to minimize disruptions and ensure timeliness of their activities.
Once MiUI is live, Thomas & Company will provide updated Power of Attorney instructions, including necessary explanations and next steps to ensure we maintain appropriate access to your account(s). The state has also provided information, including a dedicated Learning Center, MiUI University, to ensure employers understand the new resource and are aware of upcoming transitions and important action items during this transition period.
