IOWA – ID.ME VERIFICATION PROVIDES SPEEDS, SECURITY

In a recent newsletter, the Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) shared the success of the recent ID.me implementation. Beginning in January 2024, the ID.me process was rolled out as an optional process for Iowa claimants, before becoming a requirement in April.

Since January, ID.me has been used over 60,000 times in the identify verification process for unemployment claims. More than 96% of users were able to complete the process on the first try and, on average, spent less than 5 minutes doing so.

Quick and accurate identification via ID.me helps IWD identity and stop fraudulent claims before any money is paid out. The state estimates that ID.me has helped identity and stop over 6,100 potentially fraudulent claims.
