MISSISSIPPI– 2022 Tax Rates Delayed Impacting Q1 Filings

  • Mississippi has advised that the filing process for the first quarter of 2022 is currently disallowed due to the delay in the issuance of 2022 tax rates. Though it will not be possible to file reports for the first quarter of 2022 until tax rates are issued, Mississippi has informed us that this will not lead to any late filing penalties or interest because of these issues.

The Mississippi Department Employment Security announced that these tax rate notices will not be mailed to employers until sometime in May.  Once the 2022 tax rates are issued, Mississippi will provide a revised deadline for first quarter filing. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available. If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us or visit our website.
