FEDERAL & STATE OVERPAYMENT WAIVERS – Claimants can apply for waivers
- The National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA) has submitted a letter to Congressional leaders asking for passage of legislation that would allow states to waive non-fraudulent pandemic related unemployment overpayments. Claimants may not have to pay back benefits that were overpaid if the error was not their fault and the repayment would cause financial hardship to the claimant. Employers do not need to take any actions in relation to these waivers. The claimants are responsible for completing the waivers with the state.
