WISCONSIN – 2025 TAX RATES ANNOUNCED, REMAIN THE SAME
The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development recently announced employer unemployment tax rates for 2025, which will remain the same from 2024.
Employers with <$500,000 in payroll will have rates ranging from 0.00% to 12.00%, while employers with >$500,000 in payroll will have rates ranging from 0.05% to 12.00%.
New employer rates will remain at 2.90% for construction employers and 3.05% for all other employers with payroll <$500,000. For new employers with payroll >$500,000, rates will remain at 3.10% for construction employers and 3.25% for all others.

GEORGIA – DUA BENEFITS AVAILABLE TO ADDITIONAL COUNTIES
Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) is available to individuals who were affected by Hurricane Helene that recently impacted Georgia. Bryan, Butts, Camden, Charlton, Glynn, Long, Newton, and Wayne counties were recently added to the DUA declaration.
Benefits may also be available to individuals who live or work in any of the following counties originally included in the declaration: Appling, Atkinson, Bacon, Ben Hill, Berrien, Brooks, Bryan, Bulloch, Burke, Candler, Chatham, Clinch, Coffee, Colquitt, Columbia, Cook, Echols, Effingham, Elbert, Emanuel, Evans, Glascock, Irwin, Jeff Davis, Jefferson, Jenkins, Johnson, Lanier, Laurens, Liberty, Lincoln, Lowndes, McDuffie, Montgomery, Pierce, Rabun, Richmond, Screven, Tattnall, Telfair, Tift, Toombs, Treutlen, Ware, Washington, and Wheeler.
Individuals are encouraged to apply online at dol.georgia.gov. Applications may also be filed in person at any GDOL career center, if necessary. The application deadline for impacted individuals for these newly declared counties is December 6, while the deadline remains December 2 for all other impacted areas.
NORTH CAROLINA – DUA BENEFITS AVAILABLE TO TWO ADDITIONAL COUNTIES

Benefits may also be available to individuals who live or work in any of the following counties originally included in the declaration: Alexander, Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Clay, Cleveland, Gaston, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Lincoln, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Transylvania, Watauga, Wilkes, and Yancey Counties as well as the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians of North Carolina.
Individuals can file for benefits and receive additional details at www.des.nc.gov. The application deadline for impacted individuals in Mecklenburg and Swain counties is December 9, while the deadline remains December 2 for all other impacted areas.
NORTH CAROLINA – UI WAGE REPORT FILING EXTENSION GRANTED DUE TO HURRICANE HELENE
The North Carolina Division of Employment Security announced a deadline extension for Q3 unemployment wage reports for the 27 declared counties and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians of North Carolina. The deadline for filing is now December 31. Eligible counties are Alexander, Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Clay, Cleveland, Gaston, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Lincoln, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Transylvania, Watauga, Wilkes, and Yancey.
TENNESSEE – DISASTER UNEMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE AVAILABILITY CONFIRMED FOR EIGHT TENNESSEE COUNTIES
Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) has now been confirmed to be available to individuals who were affected by Hurricane Helene. We previously reported that DUA benefits were pending for those impacted in Tennessee. These benefits have now been officially approved and may be available to individuals who live or work in Carter, Cocke, Greene, Hamblen, Hawkins, Johnson, Unicoi, and Washington counties.
Individuals can file for benefits online at jobs4tnui.tn.gov/claimant. The application deadline for impacted individuals is December 2.
VIRGINIA – DUA BENEFITS AVAILABLE TO TWO ADDITIONAL COUNTIES
Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) is available to individuals in two additional counties who were affected by Hurricane Helene that impacted Virginia. Montgomery and Pulaski counties were recently added to the DUA declaration. Benefits may also be available to individuals who live or work in any of the following counties originally included in the declaration: Giles, Grayson, Smyth, Tazewell, Washington, and Wythe counties and the City of Galax.
Individuals can apply online at VEC’s Claimant Self Service at uidirect.vec.virginia.gov. Alternatively, individuals can call VEC’s Customer Contact Center at 1-866-832-2363.
The Virginia Employment Commission (VEC) will be on-site at the Taylors Valley Community Center in Damascus on Wednesday, October 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to assist individuals with unemployment benefits and Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA). The Taylors Valley Community Center is located at 23378 Taylor Valley Road, Damascus, VA 24236.
The application deadline for impacted individuals is December 2.
