OKLAHOMA – DISASTER UNEMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE

Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) is available to individuals who were affected by the recent severe storms, including straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding that began June 16 in Oklahoma. Individuals who live(d) or work(ed) in Blaine, Caddo, Custer, Delaware, Jackson, Mayes, Muskogee and Rogers counties may be eligible for DUA benefits.

Individuals must file an unemployment insurance claim at https://oklahoma.gov/oesc/individuals. For more information or questions, individuals should call the OESC’s Unemployment Service Center at (405) 525-1500 or visit one of the office’s field offices. Applications must be submitted by August 13.

IOWA – WEEKLY BENEFIT AMOUNT AND WAGE BASE UPDATES

As part of its annual review of UI wages, the Iowa Workforce Development announced updates to both the weekly benefit amounts and taxable wage base.

Effective July 7, 2024, the maximum weekly benefit amount was updated to $602 ($739 with maximum (4) dependents), up from $582 ($714 with maximum (4) dependents). The minimum weekly benefit amount will range from $90-$108.

For calendar year 2025, the taxable wage base will increase to $39,500, up 3.4% from $38,200 in 2024.

IOWA – ADDITIONAL DISASTER UNEMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE

Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) continues to be available to individuals who were affected by the recent severe storms, including straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding that began on June 16 in Iowa. Benefits may now be available to individuals who live(d) or work(ed) in Buena Vista, Cherokee, and O’Brien counties, if otherwise eligible.

Previously, DUA benefit availability in Iowa was announced for Clay, Emmet, Lyon, Plymouth, and Sioux counties.

Individuals must file a claim online through the Iowa Workforce Development’s Unemployment Benefits Online Application System. Applications must be submitted by August 23.

TEXAS – ADDITIONAL DISASTER UNEMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE

Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) continues to be available to individuals who were affected by the recent severe storms, including straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding that began on April 26 in Texas. Benefits may now be available to individuals who live(d) or work(ed) in Anderson, Nacogdoches, Panola, Rusk, and Sabine counties, if otherwise eligible.

Previously, DUA benefit availability in Texas was announced for Austin, Bell, Calhoun, Collin, Cooke, Coryell, Ellis, Dallas, Denton, Eastland, Falls, Guadalupe, Hardin, Harris, Henderson, Hockley, Jasper, Jones, Kaufman, Lamar, Leon, Liberty, Montague, Montgomery, Navarro, Newton, Polk, San Jacinto, Smith, Terrell, Trinity, Tyler, Van Zandt, Walker, and Waller counties.

As a reminder, Individuals can apply for benefits online through Unemployment Benefit Services or by calling TWC at (800) 939-6631 between Monday through Friday 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. The deadline for applications remains July 16, 2024.
