MISSISSIPPI – DISASTER UNEMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE

Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) is available to individuals who were affected by the recent severe storms, including straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding that occurred from April 8-11,2024 in Mississippi. Individuals who live(d) or work(ed) in Hancock, Hinds, Humphreys, Madison, Neshoba, and Scott counties may be eligible for DUA benefits.

Individuals can apply for benefits online at www.mdes.ms.gov or by calling (601) 493-9428. Applications must be submitted by August 13.

OREGON – INCREASING WEEKLY BENEFIT AMOUNT

The Oregon Employment Department announced an increase to weekly benefit amounts for claims filed on or after June 30, 2024. The maximum weekly benefit amount will increase from $812 to $836. The minimum weekly benefit amount will also increase from $190 to $196.

WASHINGTON – INCREASING WEEKLY BENEFIT AMOUNT, TAXABLE WAGE BASE

Washington’s Employment Security Department announced an increase to weekly benefit amounts for claims filed on or after July 7, 2024. The maximum weekly benefit amount will increase from $1,019 to $1,079. The minimum weekly benefit amount will also increase from $323 to $342.*

Beginning January 1, 2025, the taxable wage base in Washington will also increase to $72,800, up 6.3% from $68,500 in 2024.

*Due to legislative changes (SB 5061), claimants who receive a weekly benefit amount below 20% of the average weekly wage will have their weekly benefit amount be equal to their personal average weekly wage, up to $342.
