UI SIDES Modernization – Coming Soon!

  • Thomas & Company is an active participant in the UI SIDES process. The UI SIDES Separation Exchange which operates in all states, except, AR, MN, and MA, allows Thomas & Company to exchange separation information with the states in an electronic format, providing you, our clients the most time possible to gather the information for the unemployment claim requests.
  • In 2 weeks, the format in which we use to exchange data is scheduled to be upgraded. These changes are being made to improve the exchange of information to allow for a) sending over fraud indicators to alert the state immediate action is needed, b) for our staffing clients, a way to better collect employment details, c) gather better information up front to reduce the burden of answering follow-up state calls and d) the ability to submit supporting documentation. We have been actively testing the new system and are happy to report that we are ready to move to the new system.  We are awaiting the final “Go-No Go” decision on the cutover which we expect to receive this week.
  • Once we have the official approval to move forward, we will be updating our request for separation information in SHIELD or via the emailed requests. You will see additional questions being asked so that we can comply with the new SIDES Separation format. We will be sending out more detailed information on these changes before the official cutover. In most cases, this is not new information that needs to be collected and shared but rather a different way to call out those specific details that improve the process flow.
