Maine is one of the first states participating in the new online unemployment benefit filing system called ReEmployUSA mentioned in a previous post. This cloud-based program has been in the works for years and is intended to provide an efficient experience for claimants to file for benefits, get information on their accounts, enter required Work Searches, and more.

The system will not impact employers, but individuals will not be able to file for benefits during the transition. The current system will be going down on 11/30/17 at 4:00pm. The new system is expected to launch on 12/6/17. Those filing for the benefit week ending 11/25 should be sure to file before 4 pm on the 30th to prevent any delay in receiving funds. Direct deposit, and MAP/EPC card benefit payments will be processed within 48 hours.

It is important that claimants create an account with a valid email address here after the new launch on December 6th.  Representatives can be reached at 207-623-6765 (8am-5-pm) to assist anyone with questions about the new system. Those having difficulty filing a current claim should call 1-800-593-7660 (8am-12:30pm M-F).
